A poll was due to take place on Thursday 13 September 2012 to fill a vacancy on Downham Market (North Downham Ward) Town Council. No nominations have been received and a new election date (subject to a contest) of Thursday 27 September 2012 has been set. The Notice of Election will be published on Wednesday 22 August 2012. Nomination papers must be received by the Returning Officer by noon on Friday 31 August 2012. The polling station, which will be at the Sports Federation Building, Mill Lane, Downham Market, will open from 7.00 am to 10.00 pm. Applications to vote by post must be received by 5pm on Wednesday 12 September 2012. Applications to vote by proxy must be received by 5pm on Wednesday 19 September 2012 and emergency proxy vote applications must be received by 5pm on Thursday 27 September 2012. Postal votes will be despatched on Monday 17 September 2012.
