St George's Day Celebrations

St George s Day, Monday 23rd April, is fast approaching and the town centre has already been decked out with flags and bunting in preparation. If you were in town on Tuesday afternoon you would have seen the dedicated band of volunteers working hard to get Downham Market ready for the big day.

Celebrations will be held in the Town Square on Monday from 10.00AM and then throughout the day and will be well worth a visit.
Both Clackclose and Hillcrest Schools will be taking part in the day s events with the Hillcrest choir performing a selection of songs.

And make sure you keep an eye out for the Dragon, St George s arch nemesis, who rumour has it will be leaving his lair in Hilgay Fen to rampage around the town!
