Downham Market as a community has always taken an interest in sport and with the encouragement of The Ryston Runners, “running” is making an increasingly visible presence in the town.
It is becoming a tradition that the switch on of the Christmas Lights is accompanied by a “Santa Fun Run” which is very well attended and we now hope that people of all ages will answer the call to participate in the Downham Mile organised for Sports Relief.
You don’t have to be a great sportsperson or even a great runner – enthusiasm is all you need! The Downham Market run will take place on Sunday, 23rd March at the town’s Jubilee Centre, starting at 10.00am.
Registration – a simple matter – can be done online at sportrelief.com or if for some reason you are unable to register online, you can register on the day.
So encourage all your friends and family to support this great charity and, with thousands of people all over the country, run the mile for Sport Relief at Downham Market!
