On Thursday 28th March 2013 Downham Market Town Council will be hosting a Homecoming Parade for IX Squadron RAF Marham which is returning from active service in Afghanistan.
The parade will commence at 4pm with service men and women marching along Bridge Street accompanied by a Military Band.
The afternoon will include an official inspection and presentation of campaign medals ceremony before a private reception takes place in the Town Hall.
This will be a big event for Downham. The previous homecoming parade saw an estimated crowd of more than 4,500 people line the streets to welcome home the troops and similar numbers are expected this time.
Surrounding roads, including parts of Bridge Street, Priory Road, Railway Road, High Street North and High Street South will be closed from 11am – 6pm.
