Downham Market has a new claim to fame, now that a local pub has been named the best in the country in a competition run by CAMRA (The Campaign for Real Ale).
The Railway Arms, located on Platform One of the Downham Market railway station, has been awarded the accolade of National Cider and Perry Pub of the Year.
This prestigious award is in recognition of the pub’s character, atmosphere, customer service and the quality of the cider that is served. The win comes hot on the heals of having been awarded Norfolk Cider Pub of the Year earlier in the year.
Situated in the converted former post-office, the micro-pub is run by husband and wife team Ian and Lesley-Ann Pinches, along with their son Callum.
Congratulations to The Railway Arms. It’s great to know that we have the country’s very best sat on our doorsteps!
