C885 Bridge Street Footway refurbishment

Norfolk County Council will be commencing in footway refurbishment works along Bridge Street in Downham Market on, or shortly after, 16 April 2012. The works, which will last for approximately 6 weeks allow for a complete resurface of the footway, which will include hot rolled asphalt, new kerbs in accesses and fluted drainage channels where downpipes drain onto the footway. Utility covers will also be adjusted as necessary.

Works to the footway on the north side of Bridge Street will extend between the junction with Paradise Road and the Town Council car park near the supermarket. Works to the footway on the south side of Bridge Street will extend between the junction with Priory Road and the junction with Chapel Place. During the works parking along Bridge Street will be suspended as necessary to allow traffic to pass safely without the roading being shut off. Co-operation and patience in this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Pedestrians will be directed to the opposite footway to the one being worked on. Emergency services will also be informed of the works prior to their commencement and access to properties and businesses within the limits of the works will be maintained at all times. The County Council apologises for any inconvenience this work may cause.

The work will cost £30,100.00 will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Environment, Transport and Development Department and their contractors.
