Volunteer for Downham in Bloom

The Downham in Bloom Committee is in need of volunteers to come forward to help us tidy up the Town in preparation for the arrival on the Anglia in Bloom judges.
For the past few years Downham Market has been awarded a Silver Gilt Award in the prestigious Anglia in Bloom competition. Whilst we’re very proud of this achievement, we really believe that our town deserves to win gold this year. To do this, we need the community to come together to help us tidy up some key areas of the town that we’re including in this year’s judging route.
These include Sounding Alley, Church Road, and the Memorial Garden, among other areas. We need help with various tasks including graffiti removal, litter picks, general sweeping and tidying and gardening and grounds maintenance.
If you think you can lend a hand for even just an hour or so on any day of the week leading up to Monday 9th July 2012 – WE NEED YOU! From weeding to painting there are tasks to suit everyone old and young! For more information or to register your interest please contact Sarah at the Town Council Office on 01366 387770 or email [email protected] Update (05/07/12): You can meet at Downham Market Town Hall from 10am this Sunday (8th July). Free refreshments for all who participate! Daffodil Planting at The Willows (Thank you Sarah for the great news and photo!)
