Pedalling to Paris!

In September of last year downhamweb reported a story on Old Town ward councillor Jenny Groom, who at the time had successfully taken part in the Royal British Legion Pedal to Paris 2011.

“I rode last year for the first time and even with thorough preparation it was hard: My bike was heavy, I had a chest infection and the hills were so very hard!
The help and support from fellow cyclists and the support team was inspirational and as you can see from the picture, I finished the ride, raising £1,600 pounds.”
This year Jenny intends to exceed herself, she has bought herself a new, lighter bike and is currently doing lots of training in preparation to cycle to Paris for the Royal British Legion Pedal to Paris 2012!

Jenny is currently being sponsored by SealSkinz who have been kind enough to donate a pair of their ‘All Weather Ladies gloves’ which will hopefully come in ‘handy’.
To help give Jenny support you can visit her fundraising page at JustGiving.com where she hopes to meet her target goal of £2000 by 03/09/2012.

We wish Jenny the best of luck training and making her way to Paris in September.
