The community portal site for Downham Market since 2007

New Year, New Changes

With the Downham Market Christmas lights being taken down and the new year getting into full swing I figured we should have a nice site update (especially seeing as there hasn’t been anything that significant in a while!). We are kicking things off with a brand new feature page (which will be replacing our Christmas coverage page which was completed in early December 2011). The new feature page, titled ‘2012 – The Olympic Year’, will be an up to date source of sporting events and such happening in and around Downham Market… in addition to this page of events and updates we are also expanding our library of business listings, events, advertising and much more! Whilst we are always searching for new and upcoming events in the area, you can help us out out if you are running an event or perhaps know of an event that we currently do not have listed. To submit an event just click here to fill out a form and we will get back to you as soon as possible. If you have any other events that are not related to sports, do not hesitate to let us know! As some of you are already aware of Downham Market residents are being urged to welcome the Olympic Torch when it makes its way through West Norfolk next summer – even though it is not being carried through the town. The Olympic Flame will make it’s way from Peterborough to Norwich via King’s Lynn, South Wootton and the Rudhams and orgainsers say it will give people from across the borough the chance to experience Olympic excitement first hand and support the achievements of some of the individuals who have been selected to be torchbearers. So yes, lot s of exciting things to look forward to and get involved with this year, you can all so keep up to date with our updates by following our twitter and/or facebook page, so be sure to stay tuned for much more news in the near future!
