Making Downham Market a Dementia Friendly Community

Downham Dementia Support Association would like to remind businesses in Downham that, together with Norfolk Age UK they are hosting a meeting in the Town Hall tonight, Thursday 22 September 2016 from 6 – 7.30 pm to which they are all invited.

At the meeting businesses will be able to sign up for training to help them to become more dementia aware. The training includes help in communicating more effectively with people living with dementia as well as advice on decoration, floor covering and clothing.

The launch of Downham Market as a Dementia Friendly Community was in September 2015. Since then the Association has launched a successful dementia café in the Methodist Church which runs twice monthly and is working with the Town Council to look at signage and safe passage around the Town.
