The community portal site for Downham Market

For Sale – Downhamweb is looking for a new owner

Founded in 2007, downhamweb has proudly served the community for nearly 15 years.

With original information about the town and surrounding areas, the site is well populated with photographs, events, business listings and a 24/7 live stream webcam of the town.

Though suffering from a little neglect in the last few years, the site remains a useful tool for residents old and new looking for information about the goings on in Downham Market, and it was central in helping local residents access aid during the first Covid lockdown.

Due to owner relocation, the website and all assets associated with it such as the social media accounts is now for sale!

A 10 day eBay listing is now available http://ebay.us/6NcUa6?cmpnId=5338273189

Could you, or someone you know, be the new owner? Please share to help get this listing seen.

A personal note from the site owner: “I set up downhamweb shortly after I moved to the town in 2005. My main business was (and still is) as a web designer, so – as well as benefitting the community I loved, the site worked as a sales funnel for my company Lingo Design.

I never really had the time to properly develop the revenue side of things – though it always showed great potential. The site has been busy and popular at times, getting thousands of views daily, and earning some income. However, due to a little neglect over the last few years this has slipped and is reflected in the price.

Since I have now relocated to Devon to be closer to family, I would love to see the site continue, and as part of the sale am offering a handover, including training and support to learn to operate the site.

The site would suit a local person looking to grow a local business. Good computer skills would be an advantage. The advertising and revenue could be increased and the events and business directory sections could be sponsored, once updated.

I hope the site finds a new owner. I have given a lot of time and support to the site and would love to see it continue to serve the community.

Please feel free to ask any questions! “
